President Harry S. Truman (foreground, left) is congratulating recent Congressional Medal of Honor recipient U.S. Marine Major William E. Barber, West Liberty, Kentucky. Major Barber received this award for his actions in Korea during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir in 1950. The award presentation took place in the Rose Garden at the White House. Family and friends are in view behind President Truman and Major Barber.
